Dear Paul, Jean and family,
Just found out last night , on Facebook, of your dad passing away. What a wonderful difference he made in this world. As a Goodwin Tech graduate, I always recall his very strong support for the vocational high school system in the state. His many unselfish years on the Board of Education paved the way for educational success for thousands of students. We are all indebted to Paul Sr. for his service to his city and state. He will not be forgotten. My prayers are with you. Len Prygoda, AFT

I would like to offer my deepest condolence to the entire family of Paul S. Amenta. My thoughts and prayers are with the entire Amenta family at this time of great loss. Paul was instrumental in helping intercede on my half via a request from my father Peter P. Rutkowski, president of the Pulaski Democratic Club in NewBritain, Conn.to get me into the Hartford State Technical Institute (HSTI) in Hartford Connecticut in 1956. Upon graduation from HSTI, I transfeered all my credits to Tri-State College (now Triane University) in Angola, Indiana and received a B.S. degree in mechanical engineering in Aug. 1959. I always will feel endeaded to Paul for giving me a big break via entry at HSTI and the start of my 33 year rewarding professional industrial engineering career in he State of Connecticut. I also was a associate of his son-in-law David McKnight at the New Britain Sail & Power Squadron for many years, as we served in the education dept. of the squadron. Once again my sincere sympathy to the entire Amenta family. May our loving GOD take care of Paul in heaven. I will not say good-bye, I will say, till we meet again some day in the near future in heaven. GOD bless you all.

I had the pleasure of reporting on the New Britain Board of Ed for many years. Paul was a gentleman and the voice of sensibility when it was needed to get the issues back of track. I admired his commitment and tenacity as a citizen and board member. New Britain and its students were very fortunate.
