Norma St. Amand Obituary

Norma Jean (Guardiani) St. Amand, 75, of Manchester, passed away peacefully Sunday, February 1, 2015 at Hartford Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Born in Hartford, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Yolanda (Lorenzetti) Guardiani. Norma resided in Wethersfield and Marlborough for most of her adult life. She was retired from Hartford Hospital, where she worked for 30 years. However, her true passion was playing the piano and she shared her talent with many at senior centers she would travel to. Norma was a member of the Red Hat Society and was active in her Bible Study Group. She loved to cook, enjoyed trips to Vermont, Maine and Cape Cod and loved spending time at the Connecticut shore, walking the beach and watching the trains and boats pass by. She is survived by her four children and their spouses, Karen and Kevin Brett of East Windsor, Stephen and Maureen St. Amand of South Windsor, Denise and Jim Pandolfo of Rocky Hill, and Kevin and Michelle St. Amand of South Windsor; her brother Albert Guardiani of Wethersfield; her sister and brother-in-law, Louise and Richard Heller of Farmington; her grandchildren, Melissa Desilet, Ashley Desilet and her fiancé Eric Bolella, Zachary, Tyler and Luke St. Amand, and Samantha, Jake, and Max St. Amand; many nieces and nephews; and her long time companion George Childs. Norma was predeceased by her sister, Alberta L. Guardiani. Funeral services are private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association. Taylor & Modeen Funeral Home, West Hartford has care of arrangements. For online condolences, please visit www.taylorandmodeen.com.

Dear Ones,
I knew your Mother many years ago when I worked at Hartford Hospital. I worked on C11 with her from the late 1960's to 1972.
She was so kind to me, a single gal at the time. She had me to dinner many times, where I enjoyed her company, great family meals and fun with you children.
I will always remember the bouquet of picked flowers you children gave to me on my wedding day, July 8, 1972...
My husband & I moved away and I lost touch with her. I had tried to find her sometime ago with no luck.
Another long ago coworker saw your Mom's obituary & sent it on to me.
Your Mom was such a beautiful, caring person. I am distressed that I will no longer be able to connect with her.
However, I have and always will remember her with great fondness.
My heartfelt condolences and deepest sympathy to you all.
Love, Elinor Finigan Cackowski
