Benjamin Mark Comparone, "Ben", 26, of Plainville and formerly of N. Franklin, passed away suddenly on March 8, 2015. Born in Groton, CT on October 9, 1988, he was the son of Mark Comparone of Central Village and Kim Sullivan of N. Franklin. Growing up, Ben enjoyed playing baseball, basketball and soccer, and while a student at NFA he played for the Lacrosse team. Ben was a Life Scout with Boy Scout Troop 20, in Jewett City, where he experienced many outdoor adventures. He was also a member of St. David's Episcopal Church in Gales Ferry, where he served as altar boy and was involved in youth group. He assisted in supporting our Haitian adopted village, raising money to buy goats and school supplies, or build houses and latrines. Ben worked as a flooring installer with his fiancée's stepfather. He will be remembered most fondly as a brilliant, strong, compassionate and loving young man who was devoted to his family. He had an awesome friendly heart that was so pure and gentle, and he always was quick to make everyone around him laugh hysterically. He will be sadly missed but always remembered and loved by his family, fiancée, Hillary Morin, son, Cameron, and unborn child of Plainville; father and stepmother, Mark Comparone and Lori Racine of Central Village; mother and stepfather, Kim and Bruce Sullivan of N. Franklin; brother, Matt Comparone of N. Franklin; stepsister, Shealyn Redfield, husband Brendan and son, Jameson of Norwich; stepbrother, Shawn Dombek of Putnam; In-laws, Peter and Kristyn Malek, and their children, Annie, Bert and Izabel of Plainville; maternal grandparents, Henry and Kristin Saunders of W. Greenwich, RI; Meme Joyce and Pepe Bill Sullivan of Norwich; and numerous extended family and friends. He was predeceased by paternal grandparents, Ralph and Suzanne Comparone. Calling hours will be from 4 to 7 PM Friday (March 13th) at Aurora-McCarthy Funeral Home, 167 Old Hartford Rd., Colchester. Funeral Services will be observed 11 AM Saturday (March 14th) directly at St. Peter's Episcopal Church, 30 Church St. (Rte. 85), Hebron. Burial will be private in the South End Cemetery, Plantsville.
