I still remember her continuous kindness to myself and Michael. I still have my special Mary statue from my day of becoming Catholic! She and Uncle Owen and all of their children who have always been incredible and loving people. They are part of Joan“s legacy!

My condolences to the Eagan family on Joan's death. I retained the dynamic duo of Joan and Margie and Canterbury Estate Sales to manage many sales for estates I have administered. They always were a pleasure. I am sorry for your loss.

Dear Family of Joan, Honestly I can not remember how we met, but how lucky I was that we did. She was the loveliest of "girls" that I knew. Always with a sweet smile; and so friendly. She was everyone's friend.

Living across the street from Mike and his family for 30 years, we have shared so many family milestones--from field trips to school plays to high school sports. We were fortunate to also enjoy the enthusiastic, loyal and ever present cheering section led by Joan at school and community events involving Eagans and their classmates. As a (new) grandmother, I marvel at Joan's determined good humor and energy, and wonder if I will be able to replicate it. I will certainly try.

On behalf of President/Chief Administrator David Eustis and the entire Northwest Catholic High School community, I offer my very deepest sympathy on the passing of Joan Eagan.
Because her children, Mary Ann Eagan '71, Michael Eagan, '74, Owen Eagan '78 and Margie Eagan Waal '82; her daughter-in-law, Geralyn Tuohy Eagan '74; and her grandchildren, Michael Eagan '04, Caley Eagan '06, Kerry Eagan, member of the class of '05, Kevin Eagan '08, Maura Eagan '09 and Owen Eagan '14, are treasured members of the NWC community, we feel that Joan was, too, and we mourn Joan's loss along with all who loved her.
Please know that we will remember Joan and the Eagan family in a special way during our daily prayers this week and will pray for Joan at our next school-wide Mass. We are so very sorry for your loss.

Mrs. Eagan was a wonderful woman with a natural grace, an easy smile and charm, and an unmistakable genuine spirit that came through the first time you met her and stayed with you from that point forward. Naturally I was also pleased and impressed that she got my jokes which is always a good thing, as that is not always the case. From what I know she lived a tremendous life which she dedicated to her husband Owen, Sr. and children and grandchildren. What more admirable endeavor is there? The character which she bestowed upon all of her great and accomplished children and grandchildren is the testament to the wonderful life she lived, the wonderful person she was; and simply the greatest tribute that anyone could give her. It is a crowning achievement indeed. Her spirit and legacy will live on for posterity as it most certainly should. God Bless Joan and the entire Eagan family. My deepest condolences to everyone. Her vibrant spirit will remain with us all.

I loved to run into Joan at Nelson's salon, cherrystone's in Old Lyme, and enjoying her company on the pub tours to Ireland. She always had a beautiful smile on her face and a kind word to share. My condolences to her family and friends...
