Madelyn Girardin

GIRARDIN, Madelyn (Aitken) Madelyn (Aitken) Girardin, 63, of Manchester, beloved mother, grandmother, sister and aunt, passed away Monday, (October 1, 2007) at her home. Born in New London, December 29, 1943, daughter of the late Walter A. and Esther A. (Osella) Aitken, she was raised in Manchester and was a graduate of Manchester High School. Madelyn resided in Vermont for many years before returning to Manchester in 1986, and had been employed for the past six years at Rovic, Inc. in Manchester. She is survived by three children, Eric Girardin and his wife Tina of Littleton, MA, David Girardin and his wife Carolyn of Vernon, and Amber Girardin of Manchester; five grandchildren, Antony York, Kevin Girardin, Alyssa Merrill, Alexis Merrill, and Joshua Bestwick; her sister and brother, Carolyn Moore of Manchester and Marshall Aitken and his wife Shirley of Manchester; several nieces and nephews including her special niece Melanie Aitken. She also leaves her cousins and dear friends, Patricia and Don Reid of Manchester and her former husband Rene Girardin of Walden, VT. Besides her parents, Madelyn was predeceased by a brother, Walter "Terry" Aitken. Visiting hours for family and friends will be held Thursday, Oct. 4, from 6-8 p.m. at the Holmes Funeral Home, 400 Main Street, Manchester.
