Mable Singleton Obituary
Mable A. Singleton, 91, went home to be with our Lord on January 26, 2015. Mrs. Singleton was a longtime resident of Byram, but had relocated to Bedford Care in Petal, MS where she had celebrated life and witnessed to others for the past 3 years. Visitation will be from 5-7pm at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram, MS on Wednesday, January 28, 2015. A memorial service will be held at 2:00pm Thursday, January 29, 2015 at Byram Baptist Church with visitation one hour prior to service time. Ms. Singleton was born in Cleveland, MS on May 1, 1923 and moved to Byram in 1941 where she and her husband raised 3 girls and were faithful servants to their Lord. She served as a member of Byram Baptist Church for 55+ years where she was a choir member, taught children's Sunday School & GA's for 45 years. She was a President Club Member of Avon, for which she had worked for 50 years before retiring in 2005. Her sweet spirit, love for her Lord, family& friends touched all the lives around her. Ms. Singleton was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, J.R. Singleton, daughter Pat Simon, mother Alma Davis, father Burtis Davis and brother Deck Davis. Survivors include her daughters Joyce (Burney) Taylor of Crystal Springs and Jackie (David) McGuffie of Terry; grandchildren Christie Robbins, Jeff Wedgeworth, Alexa Ferguson, Stewart Simon and Michael McGuffie; 10 great grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter. Joyce and Jackie, I am so sorry I did not realize until today that you mother had died. I would have liked to come to he funeral. Your mother was always so sweet. We used to enjoy her Avon visits. Best to you all as you adjust to this loss.

I haven't seen Mrs. Mable in many years I am so sad to hear of her passing. As a child I can remember her teaching our Sunday school class and during the week she'd come by our house and my mother would buy Avon from her. She was a GREAT WOMAN OF GOD and a great addition to Gods army!

Cousin Mable would come to visit relatives in Cleveland,Ms. when she was a teenager. I was just a kid and she became the person that I looked up to and I just wanted to be like her. She was so kind and good to me.I will never forget that smile. Doris Morby

Aunt Mable was a wonderful lady. Devoted to her family. She had a great sense of humor and loved the Lord. Happy for heaven.
