Doris V. Bowling, 86, passed away Saturday, Jan. 11, at the Hazard ARH. She was the daughter of the late Curt Engle and the late Beatrice Williston Engle. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Edwin Bowling, Sr., and four brothers, William E. "Boone" Engle, Curtis "June Bug" Engle, Jr., Jamie Engle, and Albert Engle.
She is survived by three sons, Eddie and Joyce Bowling, Mick Bowling, and Terry and Sherry Bowling; two brothers, Tom and Patricia Engle, and Wayne and Anna Mae Engle; two sisters, Laura and Vernon Smith, and Beverly and Prentiss Baler; five grandchildren, Danielle and David Sandlin, Jeremy and Amber Bowling, Beth and Bear Marsden, David Bowling, and Travis Bowling; three great-grandchildren, Savannah Bowling, Ace Marsden, and Logan Sandlin; and a hos of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
Arrangements are being handled by the Engle-Bowling Funeral Home in Hazard, where the family will receive friends from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday, Jan. 13. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Jan. 14, with Eddie Bowling and Terry Bowling officiating. Burial will take place at the Engle Cemetery at Busy.

My heart goes out to you for the deep loss you must be feeling for your beloved Mrs. Doris Bowling. How sad to lose someone so loved and so needed. May you find comfort in prayer and in one another. (Jeremiah 29:12,13).

Some of my happiest childhood memories were made with "Mawmaw and Pawpaw Bowling" and their family. You'll be so missed.

I am so sad to hear of SIster Doris. Passing . I truley love her I was so glad. To get to see her last year I had not seen her for many years. . She was such a beautiful person. I. Haver never forgot how she prayed for me. When Iwas a child. And what a Great friend she was to my mother
