CHARLES HANDLEY Obituary
CHARLES EDWARD HANDLEY, 71, of Wayne, husband of JoAnne Handley, passed away Tuesday, August 16, 2016, in Cornerstone Hospital, Huntington. Charlie was born November 23, 1944, in Huntington, a son of the late Howard and Mary Louise Davis Handley. One brother, Cecil "Buddy" Samples, also preceded him in death. He retired from ACF Industries, with over 39 years of service. Funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, August 20, 2016, at Chapman's Mortuary, with Rev. Emual Adkins officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery. Survivors in addition to his wife include two daughters, Patty Ann Wisman of Palm Harbor, Fla., and Tara Lea Runyon of Huntington; three grandchildren, Cameron Wisman, Michelle Evans (Jarrod) and Brent Runyon; very special friends, Rard Adkins and Huey Adkins. He was a lifetime member of the NRA, Bass Masters and B.A.S.S. He loved to hunt and fish, and enjoyed the outdoors and Bluegrass music. The family will receive friends from noon to service time Saturday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to the charity of your choice. I'm so sorry to hear of Charley's passing. I had met him several years ago. My husband, Gary A. Evans, talked about him a lot of the great times they had shared.

I remember our young days at ACF, you, Wetzel, Rard and the rest of that wild bunch back then. You were a great asset to American Car and Foundry and an outstanding friend to those of us lucky enough to know you personally. Charles Edward Handley (Charlie) you will be sadly missed by those of us lucky enough to know you in our passing through...wait for us on the other side my friend.....it want be long for us either.
