ERNEST SHANK Obituary
ERNEST LEE SHANK, USN Retired, 80, of Huntington, was received into the arms of his heavenly father on August 4, 2017, at St. Mary's Medical Center. Ernest was a retired Chief Petty Officer with the US Navy.
He was born May 27, 1937, in Cabell County, the son of the late Roy and Lilly Shank. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Anna Lee Hagenburger, and a son, Harold Allen Shank; two brothers, Roy Shank Jr. and his twin brother Vernon Shank; two sisters, Juanita Adkins and Margie Earl. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Nettie Jean Bloss Shank; a son, Dennis and Tonya Shank of Spartanburg, S.C.; two daughters, Jenia Adkins of Las Vegas, Nev., and Pamela and Larry Bailey of Huntington, with whom he made his home for the last five years; 18 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, August 8, 2017, at 11 a.m. at the Reger Funeral Chapel by his son-in-law, Rev. Dr. Larry Bailey. Burial will follow at Bloss Family Cemetery, Lavalette. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Monday, August 7, 2017, at the Reger Funeral Home. The family requests contributions be made to Living Water Free Methodist Church at 129 5th Street, Huntington, WV 25705. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.regerfh.com.
