David Rock Obituary

LAPLACE - David Lynn Rock, 69, of LaPlace, IL, passed away at 3:20 P.M., Wednesday, May 18, 2011. Visitation will be Saturday, May 21, 2011, from 2 to 4 P.M., at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL. Memorials may be made to American Lung Association. David was born February 23, 1942, in Decatur, IL, the son of Dorwin (Bus) E. and Dorothy Opal (Tirey) Rock. He married Tracey J. Rock on November 24, 1995. David was employed by the N&S Railroad of Decatur, IL as an engineer for 36 years. He loved to watch Nascar, and Young and the Restless. He was also a big history buff, especially WWII. David also loved feeding and watching the squirrels. Surviving are his spouse Tracey of the home; son Darin L. Rock and wife Dena of Decatur, IL; daughter Dustchin L. Rock of Chicago, IL; son Jason C. Burch and wife Laura of Mobile, AL; niece Debra Kay Kusumoto and husband Yasu of Honolulu, HI; and uncle and aunt LeRoy Johnson and Betty of Decatur, IL. David was preceded in death by his parents, and brother Donald E. Rock. The family would like to thank Cerro Gordo emergency responders, St. Mary's Hospital emergency room, especially nurse Pam, Dr. Arnold of the Lung Center, Dr. Velasco and the nurses at Cancer Care for their wonderful care and compassion given to David.
