DECATUR - Donald L. Brown 76, of Granite City passed from this life on Friday, April 29, 2011 at Gateway Regional Medical Center in Granite City. Don was born on December 18, 1934 in Alton, IL to Estia A. Sophia (Voss) Brown. He was owner & operator of K & M Rentals in Decatur, IL and a member of Pontoon Baptist Church. He is survived by and will be missed by his wife, Myrtle (Hubler) Brown whom he married on August 8, 1953 in Hernando, MS; daughter, Claudia & (David) Peters of Decatur, IL; sons, Michael S. & (Sheila) Brown of Macon, IL, Robert G. & (Christina) Brown of Champaign, IL; grandchildren, Adam, Jake, Luke & (Kristy), Ben, Heather; sister, Mary & (Dorse) McKinnon of Mitchell, IL; brother, William Brown; special friends, Wayne & (Brenda) Gettleman and Jerry & (Marie) Robins. He was preceded in death by his son, Donnie Lee Jr., his parents and 2 sisters. Friends may call on Tuesday, May 3, 2011 from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Pontoon Baptist Church, 4000 Highway 111 in Pontoon Beach. A celebration of his life will be held Tuesday, May 3, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the church with Rev. Harold Hughes officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Hill Memorial Estates in Glen Carbon. Memorials are suggested to Pontoon Beach Baptist Church Building Fund. Irwin Chapel in Granite City is serving the family. Obituary written by family members.
