STRASBURG - Evelyn M. Reel, 86, of Strasburg, died at 11:50 a.m. Friday, June 3, 2011 in Lakeland Health Care Center, Effingham, IL. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, June 6, 2011 in St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Strasburg, IL with Rev. Steven Becker officiating. Visitation from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Sunday in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Strasburg, IL. Burial will be in Stewardson Cemetery, Stewardson, IL. Memorials may be given to St. Paul's Lutheran Church or donor's choice. Evelyn was born on May 31, 1925 in Stewardson, IL, the daughter of Charles and Mabel Roley Kessler, Jr. She graduated from Stewardson High School in the Class of 1944. She was a meat cutter for many years at Martin's IGA in Effingham and was active in the family farming operation until her retirement. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Strasburg. She married Ervin E. Reel on November 7, 1964. He died on March 19, 1996. Surviving are her son, Larry E. Reel and wife Debbie of Strasburg; step-daughter, Arlene Lambert of Cumming, GA; brother, Dean Kessler and wife Connie of Strasburg; granddaughters, Angela Edwards and husband Jason, Regina Shafer and husband Jeremy, Renea Bowers and husband Brendon and Bridget Polk and husband Steve; step-grandchildren, Michael Reel, Teri Clark and husband Rick, Tony Pfeiffer, Cassie Calhoun and husband Zac, Tony Plough and Stephanie Mose; great grandchildren, Jasmine Shafer and Hayden Bowers; step-great grandson, Cyrus Calhoun; and sister-in-law, Waneta Kessler of Effingham.
