Glenn E. Maycroft

SULLIVAN - Glenn E. Maycroft, 87, of Sullivan passed away 5:28 p.m. Monday, June 6, 2011 in his home. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday June 9, 2011 at McMullin-Young Funeral Home, Sullivan. Visitation will be held one hour before the services at the funeral home. Burial will be in Prairie Home Cemetery, Moweaqua. Memorials may be made to Sullivan Church of God or to the donor's choice. Glenn was born July 2, 1923 in Savoy, the son of Pearl and Sarah (Smith) Maycroft. He was an Army veteran of WWII. He married Marjorie Lindley on September 4, 1943 in Sullivan; she preceded him in death on December 8, 1973. He married Lodema (Maxedon) Knowles on July 15, 1978 in Sullivan and she preceded him in death on January 16, 2008. He retired from Caterpillar as a press operator. Glenn is survived by his son, Gary (Gail) Maycroft of Scottsdale, AZ; daughters, Kathy (Stan) Tipsword of Bethany and Julie Maycroft of Nashville, TN; brother, Herbert Maycroft of Mattoon; grandchildren, Kelsey Tipsword of Peoria, Ben Tipsword of Charleston and Nick Tipsword of Bethany.
