James Gautier Obituary

SULLIVAN - James D. Gautier, 76, of Sullivan passed away 4:55 a.m. Saturday, May 21, 2011 at Douglas Rehabilitation and Care Center, Mattoon. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday May 24, 2011 at McMullin-Young Funeral Home, Sullivan. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Marrowbone Township Cemetery, Bethany with Military Rites by the Bethany American Legion Post # 507. Memorials may be made to the family. James was born June 26, 1934 in St. Elmo, the son of Leonard James and Mary Elizabeth (Harp) Gautier. James married Janet E. Collins June 29, 1983 in Bethany. He was a US Marine veteran of the Korean Conflict. He retired from Wagner Castings, Decatur. He was a member of New Life Tabernacle, Sullivan and the Illinois Sheriffs Association. James is survived by his wife Janet; sons, Charles Lynn Gautier of Pennsylvania, and Todd W. Gautier of Sullivan; daughters, Wanda (Michael) Wright of Marseilles, Brenda Lane of Marseilles, Dawn (Terry) Elder of Sullivan and Robin Gautier of Decatur; brothers Bernard (Donna) Bandy of Springfield, Tracy (Sandy) Bandy of Bethany and John (Norma) Bandy of Blue Eye, MO; 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 wives, Betty and Ruby; one brother, Henry, one son, Jimmy and one daughter, Linda. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.mcmullinyoung.com. I am not good with words but I will try.All I can say is, Thank you! Thank you for allowing me to be a part of Jim's life. He was such a wonderful and special person.
