Please express your condolences to the family by visiting www.walkerfs.com. Mr. Leon Rogers was born March 3, 1935 and passed this life Thursday, May 26th, 2011 at Decatur Memorial Hospital. Mr. Rogers was a devoted husband, father grandfather and great grandfather. He served his country in the U.S. Military as a Marine receiving a National Defense Service Medal. He later married Margarite Reese in May 1957 in which four children was born from this union. Mr. Rogers retired from Firestone Tire & Rubber and also worked for Essex Wire Company as a supervisor. He also worked as the head Chef at the Decatur Country Club. Mr. Rogers leaves behind two daughters, Elder Pamela Rogers-Mack (Floyd) of Toledo, Ohio, and Elder Roxie Rogers of Decatur, IL, and one son, Mr. Timothy L. Rogers of Toledo, Ohio. He also leaves 3 brothers, Elder William Rogers Sr. (Purdence), Mr. Billy Rogers (Barbara), and Mr. Ronnie Rogers (Wyrine) and one sister, Ms Janet Rogers-Zigler of California. Mr. Rogers leave 9 Grandchildren, 14 Great Grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, family and friends. His wife, infant daughter, mother, father, one brother, and two sisters preceded him in death.
