Lois Powless Obituary

FLORA - Lois M. Powless, 100, Flora, homemaker, died 10:20 a.m. Saturday (Oct. 23, 2010) in Christian Village, Lincoln. Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday in Frank & Bright Funeral Home, Flora, with Ryan Edgecombe officiating. Visitation will be one hour before services. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Flora. Memorials: Lincoln Christian University or First Christian Church, Flora. Send condolences: www. frankandbright.com. Lois was born Sept. 18, 1910, in Cisne, the daughter of Tom and Eliza Rickard Duke. She was affiliated with First Christian Church and a lifelong member of EverReady Sunday School Class at the church. She was a member of Clay County Extension. She married Floyd L. Powless in 1930 in Carlyle. He preceded her in death in 1989. Surviving are her daughters, Marion Wimer of Columbus, Ohio; Margaret Green and husband Don of Lincoln; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sister, Ralean Gibbs of Flora; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Floyd; brothers, Albert Duke and Charles Duke; and sister, Helen Morris. Online guest book at www.legacy.com/herald-review/Obituaries.asp
