Richard D. "Dick" Denham

MARTINSVILLE - Richard D. 'Dick' Denham, 81, of Martinsville, died 8:50 p.m. Sunday (May 15, 2011) in Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Care Center, Mattoon. Graveside funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday in the French Cemetery, Allenville with the Pastor Dave Dolan officiating. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Wednesday in the Reed Funeral Home, Sullivan. Memorials are suggested to the Martinsville Community Food Pantry, P. O. Box 533, Martinsville, IL 62442. Condolences may be sent to the family at reedfuneralhome.net. Dick was born February 5, 1930 in Gays, the son of Franklin Pearl and Cora Sutton Denham. He had worked at the Sullivan Dairy and had trained, owned and been a driver of Standardbred horses. He married Bettie L. Black on June 11, 1950 in Bethany and she survives in Martinsville. Also surviving are her sons, Dale (Kathy) Denham of Sullivan, Tim (Lynn) Denham of Martinsville; grandson, Keith Denham of Martinsville and a sister-in-law Vera Denham of Sullivan. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, a sister and a granddaughter, Kaitlyn Denham. Obituary written by family members.
