Ruth Florini Obituary

SULLIVAN - Ruth V. Florini, 91, of Sullivan, passed away 1:10 p.m. Saturday, May 28, 2011 at St. Mary's Hospital, Decatur. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 3, 2011 at the McMullin-Young Funeral Home, Sullivan. Visitation will be Thursday June 02, 2011; from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at the McMullin-Young Funeral Home, Sullivan. Burial will be in Greenhill Cemetery, Sullivan. Memorials may be made to SCEF/ Jibby and Ruth Florini Scholarship Fund; Sullivan High School 725 N. Main St. Sullivan, IL 61951. Ruth was born November 29, 1919 in Ohlman, the daughter of Frederick W. and Anna (Essmann) Wieneke. She married Julio "Jibby" Florini February 17, 1940 in Webster Grove, MO. He preceded her in death August 29, 2000. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Sullivan, and she was the previous Co-Owner of Jibby's Restaurant for 38 years. Ruth is survived by her son, Joe (Jean) Florini of Sullivan; daughters, Sharon (Larry) Nielsen of Cary, NC, and Suzy (Dale) Crawford of Sullivan; grandchildren Tamara (James) Shade, Deborah (Michael) Whitmire, Jennifer (Tony) Cas-as, Amanda (James) Basuel, Heidi (Nick) Grooms, Chris and Andrew Crawford; great grandchildren, Eric and Evan Shade, Kara and Kenneth Whitmire, Wade and Bruce Basuel, and Gabrielle Grooms is on the way. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and one brother. "Ruth… Mom… Nonnie" leaves us a legacy of family, friends, great memories, life to the fullest, and lots and lots of love.
