Matt was a compassionate caring concerned and respectful boss and friend! He hired me soon after he was hired as the Director of the Guidance Clinic of the Upper Keys. He would have made a truly caring and competent President of the USA! I would have preferred to stay at the clinic at Tavernier, but after my son was born at Marathon my wife could no longer work full time and the Keys is an expensive place to live. I regretted needing to leave the Keys and the clinic! I loved diving, water skiing, fishing, exploring, providing Mental Health service to school students and local citizens and working with a wonderful person and boss, Richard Matthews! Matt is a permanent part of my personal and professional Soul!

Dear Deb and Family,
I am so sorry for your loss. Dr. Matt will always be loved, and remembered with joy and respect. I'll always be thankful for the confidence he had in me, and the opportunity he gave me to do work I didn't have first hand knowledge about (QA).
His Cheshire Cat grin is the first image of him that comes to my mind. That, and when he'd come to the office wearing his short white tennis shorts.
His legacy lives on in his beautiful family and all he did for the community. May he rest in eternal peace, and may you find peace in all the good memories and laughter.
