Not sure what to say?

November 22, 2011

I just learned of Alfred's passing today (from a notice in the Florida Bar News. I was truly saddened. I went to junior high school with Alfred ( Ada Merritt). We were close Buddy's. We looked out after each other as we were two of the very few Jewish kids in school. It was a struggle. But Alfred was fearless...and very smart.
From afar thereafter I followed his career. it was not surprising that he was such distinguished and highly respected member of The Florida Bar. My condolences, albeit late, to the family. Burton Young

Al was one of the sharpest, funniest people I have ever had the pleasure to meet. Seeing him verbally spar with his friends and family was always delightful. He was a wonderful person, and will be missed.

To the end Al posessed one of those acute minds that leaves the average person in awe. Over the decades I knew him, my only regret was not seeing him litigate a weak case in court; then we could have really apperciated his full capacity. Good bye to a truly enjoyable man.

I always looked forward to our visits with Al for conversation & sharing of good food. He received great pleasure in seeing his guests smile after a well-prepared meal. Al was a gentle & intelligent man who loved classical music & wrote heart-felt poetry. I know that I learned a lot from him. ~Bess

My deepest condolences to Alfred's family...we worked together in the early 80's when he was Ron Fine's lawyer and confidante. Alfred was a brillant lawyer, very loyal to his clients, and maintained the highest ethical standards. Rest old friend....
