I grew up with Mariana and Fernando. Across the street we played canasta, dominos, gin rummy. She won !! I wish she won this...I remember her as Mariana who took me to the only um baseball game. She also was very kind to my niece who at 6 or 7 yrs old was on her own ... love to Maricusa and my heart breaks for this . My love to you all. I have so much more to say but that will be at at a later date

Dearest Mariana:
Even though we had not seen you for some time, we are so saddened by your passing! What happy memories our children have of you as they were growing up, some which I didn't even know until now, like being the one who took Lee and Tiki to their first UM game or going into the garbage at a restaurant looking for Lee's retainer wrapped in a napking and trown away by the waiter! And, of course, who can forget that trip to Washington with all those 18 kids...what fun we had! You were a very, very important part of mine and very many children's lives, and, in all our hearts, you will live forever! We love you and will never forget you!

Mariana was a wonderful, joyful person. Her spirit will live on in every memory her Assumption sisters have of her, that great smile, her booming laugh and her athletic high-jinks. She always kept us laughing. She cared deeply for her friends and was always ready to offer a hug or a slap on the head if needed. My condolences to her family, she will be missed. We remember her for the life she brought, gone too soon is this gloroius spirit. We remember no more, in this day to day, but cherish our memories of yesterday. Of bright futures we all had planned, now only sadness in our weeping hands. Counsel us all with our prayers, for a life everlasting and a peaceful sleep. While today we are broken hearted and yes we grieve, the veil of darkness is lifted with the thoughts that I hold so deep. Days in the sun, of laughter and dreams; far better it is to remember a life that brought such joy and smiles of this one now fast asleep. Your loving memory, playfulness and joy filled spirit our ours to keep. Until we meet again my friend, keep a watchful eye at our Lord's feet. My prayers of peace to all who loved Mariana. I join all the sisterhood from our Assumption days, and wish Gods Blessing upon you. Class of '74.

All we have are great memories with Mariana. Mariana lived with me and Ignacio many years ago in Denison, Texas. After Paul and Diana were born she would spend all the time she could with us in Houston. Every time she had a few days off, she would spend them with us. We went on vacations together and always had a fantastic time with her. When my kids were small they would love to play cards with Mariana. We all would sit in a circle on the floor and play Continental for hours at a time. She and Paul would always "fight" because they each always wanted to win. She had a big great heart and a lot of love to give.
All four of us send our love to the entire family. We can only image the pain and sorrow you are going through and the void that she has left in your lifes. We loved Mariana very much and we are still in shock that this has happened.
Love you and miss you, "kiddo."

We are saddened to hear of the passing of our Assumption sister Mariana. Her smile and enthusiasm will live on in our hearts forever. Gone to soon but we know that Out Lord called her home and that she rests in peace, at His right hand. I can assure you, there's a volleyball game going on there, and Mariana is making it happen.
We will never forget you...
