Lorraine Phillips McSherry

1925 - 2017

McSHERRY, LORRAINE PHILLIPS, passed away at home hospice of natural causes on Thursday, January 5, 2017, a few weeks shy of her 92nd birthday. Lorraine was born in Philadelphia, PA on January 31, 1925 to William and Catherine Phillips. Her mother Catherine also died on this same day 60 years ago. She is predeceased by her husband of 47 years, Joseph McSherry and her only sister, Catherine Bergin (Aloysius); and survived by her son, Joseph McSherry (Marian); her daughter with whom she lived, Lorraine Sweeney and son Billy; son Patrick McSherry (Beverly); and daughter Lynne McSherry Perez (Arthur Barosela) along with grand-children Shannon Rooney (Joseph); Joseph McSherry (Viivi); Sean McSherry; Leonardo Perez (Christina); Kieran McSherry; Colin McSherry (Tracy); William Sweeney; Ricardo Perez (Vivian); Catherine Perez Flores (Francisco); Elizabeth Perez Gonzalez (Edward); 9 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Lorraine moved to Miami from Levittown, Pa. in 1975 and worked for Dade County Probate Court, then retired from Dade County Aviation's accounting department where she worked for many years. A memorial mass will be said at Mother of Christ Catholic Church, 142 Avenue & Coral Way, Miami, on Saturday, January 28 at 2:00 p.m. Lorraine will be interred in Philadelphia, PA.
