JOSEPH C. ROSENBAUM

ROSENBAUM, JOSEPH C., Holocaust survivor from Poland, beloved husband of Christiane and father of Philip, died Friday, December 4, 2009. He was 87. Mr. Rosenbaum lived in Century Village in Pembroke Pines, where he retired in 1985. As the survivor community dwindled, Mr. Rosenbaum was impassioned with making sure the world remembers the atrocities of the Holocaust. He wrote his memoirs and over the years had many letters to the editor about his Holocaust experiences, as well as other world issues, published in The Miami Herald. His myriad stories of survival are compelling. At a death camp in Poland his mother gave her own life to save his. He wrote a short story about this and it was printed in "Chicken Soup for the Mother's Soul". Mr. Rosenbaum also gave testimony for Steven Spielberg's Shoah project and spoke about the Holocaust at Broward County public schools. He enjoyed almost twenty wonderful years with his wife Christiane. As he continues to inspire and guide his loving family, Mr. Rosenbaum will be forever missed. View this Guest Book at www.
