Margaret Erskine Obituary

Erskine, Margaret Richardson
July 11, 1935 - May 15, 2011
Virginia Gardens
Erskine, Margaret Richardson, devoted wife to Stewart M. Erskine Jr. (deceased), passed on to be with our Heavenly Father on Sunday, May 15th after a joy-filled and courgaeous life. She was surrounded by her loving family until the beginning of her new life in eternity.
Born in Meridian, MS and a 50+ year resident of Virginia Gardens, Margaret was a proud member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and was Chapter Regent of the John MacDonald Chapter (1992-1994). She received highest honors at Meridian HS, attended Mississippi Southern College and graduated from Auburn University where she was a member of Chi Omega Sorority.
A teacher, educator, and full-time mother, she had a love for children, education and the outdoors, with a deep respect for nature and the Everglades. She and her husband worked as the Youth Directors for the Miami Springs United Methodist Church for many years and were commited to being spiritual leaders to the younger generations.
She is survived by her loving children Mac Erskine III (Sabrina), Robin, and Louise (Terry) Jagessar, along with 10 grandchildren (Stewart IV, Tim, Garrett, Kristyne, Rachel, Zasha, Aja, Jazmine, Jade, Jordyn) and one great-grandchild (Emma).
A celebration service honoring Margaret R. Erskine's life and accomplishments will be held at 7 PM, Wednesday May 18th at Poinciana United Methodist Church in Miami Springs. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Poinciana UMC Student Ministry.

I will always cherish my childhood memories growing up next door to the Erskine family. Mrs. Erskine was one of the nicest, most genuine people I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. God Bless her and the family. I will hold you all close to my heart.

Margaret is one of those rare individual who blends perfectly the love, teaching and discipline of the Lord. She was a foundational part of the Methodist Church in Miami Springs. Her faithfulness in attending, even on some of her worst days, is an inspiration to us all. She is with the Lord now, but in that supernatural way that He is with all of us at the same time, she is still here, watching, loving, caring. We love you Margaret and we can't wait to see you and Stew, when you greet us in the vestibule of the Lord's house. God bless you and the legacy you have left with us!

One life, well lived, is a joy in the sight of the Lord! Margaret was the devoted wife of my brother "Bud" and together, they raised a close loving family. Her life was a joy! I will miss
her.
