My former wife, the late Margaret (Maggie) Donovan DuPriest, and her husband, Laurence (Larry) Donovan, were close friends and great admirers of Frank. I had the pleasure of working with him and interviewing him on WLRN-FM and WLRN-TV on his retirement as School Board Attorney. He was a memorable, admirable person, and our lives, as well as all those who loved and associated with him, were greatly him, were greatly enriched by such an extraordinary individual.

I just learned of Frank Howard's passing. I worked with Frank Howard 4 different times in my career as a legal assistant and once as his office manager. Frank Howard was a great man with a wonderful sense of humor and was highly respected and loved by everyone. I am deeply saddened to learn he is gone, but as I know he suffered toward the end, I'm sure he is in a better place. My heart goes out to Emily and Elizabeth. - joy Reid (Miami, FL)

My deepest sympathies to Aunt Emily, Elizabeth and the "grandkids." Rest in Peace, my dear "Uncle" Frank. You were simply the best friend and uncle a kid could have. Thank you for keeping in touch with us over the years: My husband Kim, and your "faux" grand niece and nephew, Mary Kathryn and Robbie, send their love to your family. You made my childhood special. We were blessed to know you and have you in our lives.
Love, Lyla Bryan King-daughter of "Captain Bob"

My sympathy to Emily and all of Frank's family. As you know, I had the good fortune to work with Frank for thirty years. Not only was his knowledge of the law encyclopedic,he was one of the most ethical men I have met. He was a good friend and he will be missed.

My grandfather was a man who demonstrated love with everything he did. He touched everyone's lives who knew him. He is the single greatest influence on my life thus far and I will miss him forever. He was, truly, an officer and a gentleman and an extraordinary person.

Frank was an extraordinary gentleman, a paragon of wisdom and ethics. He was a highly respected associate of mine at Miami-Dade Schools and a lifelong friend of the late UM professor Laurence Donovan and of my first wife, the late Maggie Donovan DuPriest. I write about him in my forthcoming memoir, "Frangipani Nights: Remembering Maggie." My most sincere condolences to his wife and his family--I hope that many warm memories will ease your grief.
