Coach Lannom was a fighter as I remember. He was my football coach for my short career. I believe he was responsible for the saying painted over the locker room door. "Excuses are confessions of failure". RIP

I still remember the early morning sessions of Coach reading the comics to his children, he was a real man, and I loved him very much, he got me to college.

Coach Lannom was a wonderful teacher, friend, coach and always a Thoroughbred. He played a large part in forming the goals for the new Hialeah Senior High School and was respected by all the students. You can see his enthusiasm by the photo I have attached from a school pep rally. Class of 1958

Dr. Herold Lannom was my football coach in 1950 at Miami Beach Senior High School . He was a dedicated line coach who taught us the meaning of good sportsmanship on the football field as well as facing hardships off the field . Under his tutorship we tied Miami High School 7 to 7 in the Orange Bowl . At this time Miami High was never defeated or tied by any other team . Dr. Lannom will always be remembered for his leadership and his mentoring of young ball players on and off the football field . He will be missed by all those who went on to be successful in their chosen careers . May the Lord bless You Coach Lannom .

Coach Lannom was a wonderful role model for every student that he interacted with. Always available, giving advise and being a friend that was
respected by students and faculty. Always a gentleman. Class of 1958. Linda L.
