Boyd Allred Obituary
He was born in Compton, Ark., on Feb. 19, 1932, to Ausbin and Edith (Newberry) Allred, the youngest of four children.
Boyd moved to Klamath Falls in 1948 and married Inez Sloan in 1950. He began his 35-year career as a carman with Great Northern Railroad in 1950. He was a home builder and contractor as well for more than 30 years.
Boyd enjoyed sports and walking and was an accomplished musician. He was an active member of the Masonic Lodge No. 77 and was a 32nd degree Mason and a member of Scottish Rite Temple for more than 50 years.
He will be remembered for his unselfish and generous nature and desire to help others in need. The joy of his life was the great pride he took in the accomplishments of his son and grandsons.
He is survived by his wife Inez Allred of Klamath Falls; son and daughter-in-law Rod and Barb Allred of Fort Worth, Texas; grandsons Travis and wife Justin Allred of Longview, Texas, and Brett Allred of Houston, Texas; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Alma and Floyd Edwards of Klamath Falls; brother Loyd Allred of Springdale, Ark.; sister Idola Meyers of Harrison, Ark.; cousins Rex Allred and Opal Shipman of Klamath Falls; and several cousins in other states.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Freeda Gibbins, and his daughter Darla.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, June 27, at Klamath Memorial Park. Arrangements are being made by Davenport's Chapel of the Good Shepherd.
