Doris Epps Obituary

DENISON – Doris Lynn Epps passed away at the age of 64, Saturday, February 25, 2012.

Doris was born Monday, September 15, 1947 in Los Angeles, CA. to Benjamin and Madeline (Grimm) Gordon. She was a seamstress and married Alvis Epps on June 3, 1970 in Jacksboro, Texas. She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Denison and worked in the church nursery.

She is survived by her son Brian Epps and wife Stacy; step-son Raymond Epps and wife Helen; step-son Steve Epps and wife Cookie; daughter Tina Rodriguez and husband John; brothers, Johnny Gordon, Paul Gordon, Mark Gordon, David Gordon; grandchildren, Amy Wilson, Adam Epps, Zach Epps, Shailey Epps, Sesley Epps, Samantha Rodriguez, Chris Rodriguez, Caitlin Rodriguez, Corey Rodriguez; great-grandchildren Hannah Lam and Phoenix Taylor.

Doris was preceded in death by her husband Alvis Epps, son Trice Epps, and two granddaughters Stephanie Epps and Kimberly Epps.

Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., Monday, February 27, 2012 at Bratcher Funeral Home in Denison.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Tuesday, February 28, 2012 at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 2008 Juanita Dr., Denison, Texas, with Brother Earl Oglesbee officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery, Old Post Oak Rd in Jacksboro, Texas.
