I got my first job from Gene at Piggly Wiggles. He was a good boss and man. I remember his deep voice and he always had a stogy in his mouth or hand.

Marsha, Tommy, Tosha, Josh, Mrs. Barnes and all the great-grandkiddos. Marsha, we were so sorry to hear about the death of your precious father. I dread the day when that comes. We would loved to have see your family, but we were out of town. We love you and miss you still. I would love for all the little kids to get to see one another. Love, The Watkins Family

I didn't know him but after reading about him and his family you felt like you did; I'm from Denison so I'm sure I saw him at Barretts and just don't remember. I'm very sorry for your loss; I know he will be missed.

I used to go to piggly wiggly when I was young and Gene was there, later would see him at Barrets. At my young age, I remember how much he liked his cigar. He was always a nice man to me and I know I cherish my memory of him. God bless your family during a tough time.

I will never forget the first time we met, us all playing dominoes and you winning with the biggest smile. I love hearing all the stories about you and will never forget to pass on your legacy to our kids. Rest in peace.
