Joe Cloer Obituary
He was the only boy of 5 children. His sisters Mary Cruson, Evelyn Cobble, Elcyon Kidd and Sue Ann Cloer have preceded him in death.
He was in the U S Navy and was on the USS O'Brien for which he was very proud to serve. He came home and met Mary Loretta Sharp and when she graduated from high school they were married on June 28, 1947 in Ambrose, Texas. They started attending Ambrose Church of Christ and went every week until he was unable to go anymore. They have been members as long as they were married, 68 years and 8 months.
Joe was a farmer for many years and in 1962 he went to work for TXU Valley Plant in Savoy and worked on his farm and also for TXU and retired in 1987.
Joe is survived by his wife Loretta and 3 children, daughter Helen Price and husband Troy of Ravenna, TX, sons Joe Lee and wife Judy of Bonham, TX and Billy Dale and wife Pam of Savoy, TX.
They have 5 grandchildren, Chris Howery and wife Angie of Tom Bean, Travis Howery and wife Dori of Ravenna, John Price and wife Sarah of Sherman, Brannon Cloer and wife Leslie of Little Rock, Ark,, and Brianne Cloer and Austin Hawkins of Sherman, Texas.
Also they hav 12 great grandchildren Quinten, Austin Grace, Alex, Devin, Kennedy, Ayden, Xander, Jayden, Lang, Haleigh and Ella.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, March 21, 2016 at Fairview Cemetery North of Savoy, Texas. Mr. Jeramie Sweet of the Savoy Church of Christ will officiate.
