Jean,

Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family in your time of loss. Although we were only your neighbors for a few years, George left a lasting impression. He was a kind soul and will be greatly missed. God Bless.

I had known George since he married into the Reed/Bickford family. Ellie had known George since 1958, when she met him at our wedding. What a giant of a personality, always the big handshake and warm smile, a gentle, friendly, sincere spirit. At family or church gatherings you didn't have to look for him, he found you. George didn't just "talk the walk, he walked the talk." Well done, George, you were truly one of God's faithful servants. Art & Ellie Bickford

George was a dear and beloved friend to me and my family. He was always smiling and he had a twinkle in his eye. What a blessing to have known him and to look forward to the day when we will see him again in heaven. We are praying for the Lord's comfort and peace for George's family. Blessings to you.

I am sorry to hear of your loss. George was a dear neighbor and good friend.

My fondest memories of George were from an 8 year olds eyes sneaking up on him to start a snowball fight. He never got mad and always let me get him. I always had a buddy to bike ride around the lake with and he wouldn't hesitate to let me "help" mix concrete for any project he was working on. I think of him fondly every summer as I jump off the dock into the cold lake..."one for the money, two for the show, three to get ready, and four to go"! Rest in peace George.

George Howell has been a long time friend and also a 24 year member of my Sunday School class. George had the gift of encouragement. He always looked at the bright side of things and he had a word of encouragement when things looked hopeless or you felt discouraged. George always had a list of projects to be done. He was the church handyman. When George could no longer physically fix something that needed repairing at the Free Methodist Church, he became a consultant to give advice to the younger men who stepped in to do the repairs. I cannot remember hearing George complain.

God gave me the Scripture in Isaiah 57:1-2 for George, as well as Betty Land, who passed away within 2 hours of each other.
The righteous perish, and no one ponders it in his heart; devout men are taken away, and no one understands that the righteous are taken away to be spared from evil. Those who walk uprightly enter into peace; they find rest even as they lie in death.

I shall miss George but I have the assurance I will see him again.

You who dwell in the shelter of the Lord, who abide in his shadow for life,
say to the Lord: My refuge, my rock in whom I trust. And He will raise you up on eagle's wings, bear you on the breath of dawn, make you to shine like the sun, and hold you in the palm of His hand.

George was wonderful man and I was honored to have him as my father in law. His unconditional love for everyone was his true gift that God had given him. He will be surely missed and now he joins the ones that past on before him to wait the arrival of the rest of us.

Mom, please take comfort in knowing that dad knew you loved him and that he loved you very much and one day you will be together again in the eyes of the Lord.

Dad, We love you very much and you will never be forgotten.
