Lyle Inman Obituary

Sep. 19, 1929 - January 31, 2018 Born and raised on a farm in Burlington, Kansas, Lyle worked on the farm and at a print shop "in town" before graduating with the Burlington High School Class of 1948. After high school Lyle moved to Washington State, following his older brother to the Three Lakes area near Snohomish. Lyle attended Everett Junior College, and during this time, met his future wife, Jacquelyn Williams of Woodinville. They married in 1951 and moved to Tucson, Arizona, where for four years, Lyle served in the United States Air Force. After an honorable discharge, the couple returned to Washington and settled at Lake Roesiger where they raised four children and ran several businesses: The Lake Roesiger Store, Inman Construction, and Lake Roesiger Realty. The store was an ongoing joy and frustration, where several low days included gross sales of less than four dollars! Inman Construction was hard work. Encompassing various repairs, remodels, and other projects. Lyle built the best landscaping steps on lakefront properties. He also owned a pile driver and built most of the first "driven" docks and piers on the Lake. As a licensed real estate broker, Lyle knew every property line and idiosyncrasy around Lake Roesiger. As a charter member of Granite Falls Eagles, Aerie 3358, Lyle served as president and several terms as trustee. He was also a founding member of Snohomish County Fire District 16 (1955) which he served as Assistant Chief and Fire Commissioner for many, many years. Very active in the fire department's annual Fourth of July celebration, Lyle was famous for selling record numbers of red raffle tickets-- not individual tickets, but entire books of them. He loved the fire department and always said, if the aid car ever came for him, there was to be none of this silent, non-code response. He wanted to see all the lights and hear all the sirens. Lyle's favorite recreational activities included deer hunting, salmon fishing, and razor clam digging. He looked forward to his yearly camping/deer hunt with sons, Larry and Marty, and friend, Carl Christofferson, in sunny Winthrop. Coastal adventures included fishing in Willapa Bay from Marty's boat and chasing the elusive razor clams at Twin Harbors Beach near Tokeland. At home, Lyle loved spending time in the upper garden with his vegetables and bees. His parents, Joseph Eugene and Etta Inman; one brother, Chester Inman, proceded Lyle in death. Lyle is survived by his wife, of 66 years, Jackie Inman; sons, Larry and Martin Inman; daughter, Lenore Lundquist; and daughter, Susan Lamarche also "favorite" daughter-in- law, Cindy Inman and "favorite" son-in-law Kenneth Lamarche. Seven grandchildren include, Matthew and Joseph Inman, Joshua Inman, Sylvia and Michelle Lundquist, and Leslie and Henry Lamarche. Lyle was a great Husband, Dad, Grandpa, and Friend. He kept that wood stove burning! We will miss him. There will be a potluck celebration of life on Saturday, February 17, 2018, 2:00 P.M. at the Lake Roesiger Fire Station, 1205 South Lake Roesiger Road, Snohomish, Washington. In lieu of flowers, please send memorial donations to the Lake Roesiger Firefighters Association at the above address. Thank you so much.

I just heard about Lyle passing away, and am thinking about the family with heartfelt condolences. I was on a drive on the outskirts of town last week and almost drove out to the lake for the heck of it, but didn't. I am wishing I had. I really enjoyed my chats with him and found him to be very genuine and interesting. If I live as long as Lyle, I hope to be half as fit and active as he was... Truly amazing.

My prayers go out to the family. Lyle was my father-in-law when I was married to Larry. Lyle was the kind of man who was always working on something. I love you all and wish I could be there to celebrate Lyle's life.

My thoughts and prayers for the family. So sorry for your loss. Great memories of summers spent on the lake, and at the Inman house. Sue (Patchett) Andrew

Lyle was indeed one of a kind. He was the best neighbor and friend we could have ever asked for since 1986. We could always depend on him in emergency situations. When we weren't at the lake, the temperature dipped and the heat needed to be turned up in the house or when he noticed the water meter was spinning way too fast...pipe going to the house had broken. When somebody had forgotten a key, when we needed tomatoes, zucchini or honey. When deliveries needed to be made to our lower level and we borrowed his driveway. When our son needed a place to park his motor home for a weekend. When our grandsons needed space for quad riding. On and on. No more hugs when he met us at our door, no more stories, no more loving care. We appreciate all the interest he took in our children, their children...and their children. He can never be replaced. He will always have a place in our hearts. Rest in peace, dear Lyle. Thank you, Jackie and family for sharing him. Much love, Jim and Merrilee MacDonald and family.
