As I drove to Portland, sat in the Rose Garden, watched your dear friend and family Coach Nate and Michelle McMillan, tears began to drop from my eyes because all I could think about was the word "Thanksgiving", and the words "thanks" and "thankfulness". I was reminded of the verse in Revelations, "And the twenty-four elders who sit on their thrones before God fell on their faces and worshiped God, saying, “We give thanks to you, Lord God Almighty, who is and who was, for you have taken your great power and begun to reign. (Revelation 11:16-17)
and the 1970's song by Andrae Crouch that just keeps going round-and-round in my head. His song "My Tribute to you Paul" was one of my all-time favorites growing up. I use to listen to that album (yes, the old vinyl LP,), over and over again! I could think of no better way to express my pain and the heart of The Greater Trinity Christian Learning Academy's of "thankfulness" at this time of Great loss to our community from the words by Andrae's song the words say:

How can I say thanks
For the things You have done for me,
Things so undeserved,
Yet You gave to prove Your love for me.
The voices of a million angels
Could not express my gratitude.
All that I am and ever hope to be,
I owe a great deal to Thee.

To God be the glory,
To God be the glory,
To God be the glory,
For the things He has done.
With His blood He has saved me,
With His power He has raised me,
To God be the glory,
For the things He has done.
Through you Paul O Lawerence, Jr.

Your last words in our board meeting reception was "All I wish to do is be apart of somemething Great"! Well Paul you've got your wish, enjoy "Heaven"...

Dearest Holli and family,
Paul was a great man. Many men may live to be a hundred and never be half the man Paul was. I am so terribly sadden with the thought he will never barge into my office and give me another one of his bear hugs. May the Lord wrap you in his arms in this time of sorrow and help you find peace.
Love,
Dana

Paul was a good friend , He was a great help to me in thinking through ideas for my radio show and we talked sports, life and our professions on many occasions. I spoke with Paul just a few weeks ago and you truly never know what life brings each day, and when it will end. In this case far too suddenly. I will miss Paul so much. It is a shock to see him go ahead of us but I am sure he left with as much energy, love and warmth as he had for all of us while he was here. I remember him as one of the coolest Basketball players at Mililani High and always cheering him on. I will continue to cheer for him in my heart and am sure he is shooting hoops with our creator as we speak. With so much love and sincere condolences from Yokohama to the entire Lawrence family. His loss is missed dearly around the world. Love, Ruthie Jarman and family.
