Gladys M. Hendry
Oct. 7, 1923 - Apr. 26, 2011
She was born on October 7, 1923 in Harwood, ND to John Stengrund and Mathilda Haugen Stengrund. A graduate of Everett High School, Gladys married Lewis B. Hendry on May 21, 1943. She enjoyed being a homemaker and was active in the Central Lutheran Church in Everett. In her free time, she loved reading and gardening.
Gladys was preceded in death by her parents, John and Mathilda; and brothers, Melford and Arnold.
She is survived by her children, Cheryl (Dennis) Cooper, Arnold (Mary) Hendry, Dennis (Julie) Hendry and Duane Hendry; as well as ten grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
A celebration of Gladys' life will be held on Sunday, May 1, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Evergreen Funeral Home, 4504 Broadway, Everett.
A reception will follow the service.

So sorry to hear of you mom passing. I didn't know her but remember how involved she was in your life when you lived up here. Lost my dad 2 years ago. It's never easy.

Dear Cousins: I just heard about you losing your mom. I am so sorry to hear that. Aunt Gladys was always very good to me, good to everyone. She was a big part of my life growing up. It's so hard, I am still not over losing dad, and that was in 1986. It just helps to know that they're no longer suffering. My love to all of you, Suzanne Robinson (you've always known me as your cousin, Sue Hendry).

Grandma helped care for me from the time a was a baby and she has been a wonderful loving grandma throughout the years since. I will miss her and cherish all the good memories and look forward to seeing her again in heaven where she is dancing with Grandpa again right now.

Aunt Gladys was my god mother and as I was growing up she always remembered my birthday with a god child card I will always remember her for that reason. I enjoyed going to her house with my parents Gerald and Shirley and have missed that. I think of her often. She will be missed
