Virginia Randall Obituary

Virginia Laure Randall

Virginia Laure Randall, or Laure as she liked to be known, was born on September 16, 1953 in Enumclaw, Washington, the daughter of Virgil Lawrence Markus and Barbara Jean Jensen. She passed away on February 1, 2011 at Providence Hospital, Colby Campus, Everett, Washington. She was a resident of Everett for 11 years but was born and raised in the Maple Valley area. At her passing she was a member of the Valley Historical Society. Laure graduated from Tahoma High School and later from the Green River Community College with an Associate Arts Degree in Public Works.
Laure met her husband, Rodney Lee Dean Randall, through the old "bulletin board" networks that preceded the internet. They married on November 10, 1996. They founded their current business, UniRom Express, a U.S. Mail Contractor, in April of 1995. In 2003 the business was awarded the prestigious Contractor of the Year Eagle Award. Laure was active in the Rainbow Girls and achieved the post of Past Worthy Advisor. For two years she Chaired the Organizing Committee of the Holiday Parade for Buckley, Washington. Her entry representing her answering service even placed first one year! After meeting her husband she became an avid bowler, achieving a personal high game of 289 and high series of 724. She also became a Director on the Board of Directors of the Seattle Men's Bowling Association. Later she became the first woman ever elected to a Vice-Presidential position in that organization.
She is survived by her father, Virgil Lawrence Markus, of St. Helen's, Oregon; her mother, Barbara Jean Jensen, of Yakima, Washington; her brother, Craig Markus and his wife, Paulette, of Maple Valley, Washington; her brother, Larry Markus, of Harrison, Arkansas; and her younger brother, Adam Markus, of Yakima, Washington. She is also survived by her son, Christopher Neslin and his wife, Barbara, of Mount Vernon, Washington; and they have her two grand-daughters, Sammantha and Christina. She is also survived by her daughter, Sammantha Sorensen and her husband, Beau, of Baker City, Oregon.
Laure was a true "Light of Love" for the world. She was renowned for her ability to make time for anyone and to remember with amazing accuracy the important details and events of a person's life. She came to be so well-known and beloved that she could call almost anyone and, without giving her name, be known immediately by just her voice and greeting! Laure was most passionate about other's well-being and happiness.
A Celebration of her life is to be held at 10:00 a.m., February 21, 2011 at Purdy & Walters with Cassidy at 1702 Pacific Ave, Everett, WA, 98201.
