Madelane Christensen Obituary
Madelane P. Christensen
She was born to Samuel and Meriden Hatch on June 9, 1939, in Barre, VT. Madelane graduated from Spalding High School in 1957 and received her LPN from Lewis-Clark State College, Lewiston, ID in 1975.
Madelane was blessed with eight children, including two sets of twins, and will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother who was full of energy, hard-working, adventurous, strong, witty, funny and creative with many talents such as cooking, sewing, gardening, oil painting and making ceramics. She loved spending time with her family camping and fishing. She was a big Seattle Mariners fan and never liked to miss a game. She loved playing card games such as cribbage and loved an opportunity to go to the casino.
Preceding Madelane in death was her beloved husband of 27 years, William August Christensen in 2002; daughter, Meriden Alice Barnhill in 2003; and her brothers, Stanley and Benjamin Hatch.
Surviving Madelane are her children, Robert Lee Wiltse Jr. and wife Susan of Witchita, KS; Samuel Benjamin Wiltse and wife Mary of Kennewick, WA; Sean Patrick August Christensen and wife Danna of Arlington, WA; Sherri W. Collings and husband John of Grand Forks, ND; Terri Lee VanAuken and husband Gary of LaCrosse, WA; Michelle Reneé Asplund and husband Jon of Troy, ID; and Margie Jane Thorngren and husband Craig of Arlington; sisters, Marjorie Fisher of Willbraham, MA; Marleen Roy of Barre, VT; Geraldine Hawkins of Glenarm, IL; and 11 grandchildren who were her pride and joy.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 18, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Weller Funeral Home, 327 N. MacLeod Avenue, Arlington, WA 98223.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Madelane's name to Rabbit Haven, P.O. Box 2268, Gig Harbor, WA 98335 - 253-208-4206.

The most memorable time with mom was when Gary and I took mom camping, she was so excided! She enjoyed the trees, roasted hotdogs, licked her fingers from the yummy snores, scooted her self right into our trailer! We played cards games and had a great time. I will miss
our mom.

Your outgoing personality set you apart from others and it will definitly be missed. Your family that was left behind will miss you until the day everyone is together again. I know in my heart that you are with dad and the 2 of you are happy again.Until we meet again,keep each other company and remember our love will never fade. My sympathy to the family of Madelane, my sister-in-law and aunt of my children and sister of Stanley who passed away in 2008. She has had an active life. May the Lord bless her and keep her.
