Bjorg Johnson Obituary

Bjorg Johnson

Bjorg Johnson, 85, of Marysville, WA died Tuesday, March 22, 2011.
Bjorg, the youngest of nine siblings, was born May 9, 1925 on a small farm in Fister, Norway. In 1948, as a young adult, she came to the USA to visit her older sister in Manhattan, NY and her brother in Seattle, WA. In Seattle she met Warren Hartley Johnson, from Idaho, whom she married in 1950.
After raising their five children, Bjorg and Warren spent their winters on the Big Island of Hawaii. Warren liked looking after their macadamia nut trees and the hiking opportunities of the island while Bjorg greatly enjoyed playing bridge with her friends at the Kona Bridge Club. She achieved the rank of Bronze Life Master after only a few years.
Warren passed away in 1999. Bjorg continued her life of Hawaiian winters and Washington State summers until 2009.
She is survived by her sons, Kurt and Warren B.; her daughters, Elizabeth, Elsie and Sheila; and by four grandchildren.
A graveside service with immediate family was held at The Little White Church on the Hill in Silvana, Washington. Bjorg will be missed as a mother and grandmother.
The family has asked that no gifts be made. Instead, friends of Bjorg may make memorial donations to the charities of their choice.

Lots of great memories from our time growing up with the Johnsons. Mom and Dad had so many good times with Vera and Johnny. I would bet they are at the Grange Hall in the sky having a good time. Sally and Dave Strom
