Goodbye, beautiful Elena. I hardly knew you, but when we met - that one and only time - we talked of many things. I'm so sorry that you had to leave us. You're pictures showed you to be incredibly beautiful all your life. My heart goes out to your darling little girls and your wonderful husband, whom I've much admired for his intelligence, strength of character, and now, as well, the rhythm and music "in his bones." I'm so terribly sorry that you've gone on, but so glad to have known you, however briefly.

This very sad news has taken me by surprise. Elena was friendly and did not let on that she was sick. We were planning to spend some time together, and that time never came. I will remember her from our encounters at school breakfasts, at birthday parties, and from both our short and longer conversations. I will particularly remember her special east coast uniqueness, her smartness, and of course her beauty on the outside as well as on the inside. Fondly and with a sad heart, I wish for her family renewed focus on future blessings.

We loved and will miss Elena dearly. I will think often of her laugh and giggle, that we shared together. Our prayers can be assured for the entire family. Kim and Sunny Poellot
