George Leu Obituary

George V. Leu

George V. Leu passed away on March 23, 2011 at the age of 67.
He leaves behind his devoted wife of 41 years, Barbara; and his daughters, Danielle (Robert), Donna (Damon) and Darlene (Bryan). His legacy extended to his nine grandchildren, Joshua, Michael, Blake, Adam, Tyler, Owen, Brody, Ana and Elliott. He also leaves behind his loving mother, Doris; his sister, Suzanne; brother, Ken (Karen); and his nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his son, George Michael Leu; and daughter, Deborah Kay Leu.
George had a forty year career as an electrician and was a member of the IBEW Local 46. He served two years in the U.S. Army, one of which was in Vietnam. He was a dedicated, hard-working man.
George was a man of great integrity and compassion. He spoke what he thought and had a quick wit and humor rare to find. He had the biggest, kindest heart and was a true friend to those that knew him. He touched many lives with his stories and laughter. The pain and shock of the loss will be felt by many and he will be greatly missed. We were blessed to have him in our lives for 67 years. He went home to be with the Lord and to reunite with his son Mike and daughter Debi.
A celebration of George's life will be held at Bob and Danielle Thayer's, 17202 Marine Drive, Stanwood, WA 98292 on April 16, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. Stories and memories of Georges life will be shared and celebrated.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the American Diabetes Foundation or the Disabled American Veterans Fund.

I can't seem to get around the losses of friends any more. It seems a never-ending flow. I remember George as a quiet, gentle man, who was a friend to me some 50 years ago, as well as a classmate. I remember that George had the gift of hospitality, and that meant something very special. I shall miss him, the more so because I have put off contacting him to see if he would be attending our 50th class reunion this fall. So my heart is filled with sympathy and the understanding that George will be greatly missed. May you all remember the fun things about George - and feel surrounded by his love of you. In sympathy, Mr. Kim R. Turner, President, Queen Anne High School Alumni Association
