Ruth Downing Obituary

Ruth Evelyn Downing

Ruth Evelyn Downing, 91, of Everett, quietly passed away on March 11, 2011.
She was born to Andrew and Asta Sunde on February 1, 1920 in Valley City, North Dakota.
She worked as a credit manager for Mullen's Pharmacy from 1960 until her retirement.
Ruth loved to garden. She always planted beautiful flowers and hanging baskets in the spring. She maintained her own yard until she was quite elderly.
Last year, thirty members of her family, and their partners, celebrated Ruth's 90th birthday. Two five generation pictures were taken with her two new great-great grandchildren. This was the third five generation picture. The first was in 1961, the second was in 1983 and the third was in 2010. A humorous remark was made by Ruth that day, when she looked around at the crowd and exclaimed "and to think I started all of this." A third great-great grandchild was born just five days before her death.
She is survived by her three children, Larry Domrude (Tricia), Terry Domrude (Cindy), and Shirley Major (Morri). She had six grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and the three great-great grandchildren.
The children of Ruth would like to thank Kay Crowder, who did such an outstanding job as mom's caregiver, always treating her with kindness, patience and a mending spirit. We are deeply appreciative.
There will be a family service at a later date.

May you Rest in Peace Grandma. We love you

March 27, 2011

God bless you Ruth.

We have been neighbors from Pecks Drive to 93rd Street for over 30 years and Ruth will be remembered by us as a great person and wonderful neighbor.

We remember she enjoyed dancing even 6 weeks after her hip replacement. She would not be held back .

sincerely,

Jon & Mickey Kempken & Family
