Paul Giraud Obituary

Paul "Duke" Giraud, Jr., age 56, was born October 7, 1957 in Ontario, Oregon. He died peacefully at home in Everett on August 31, 2014 after a prolonged fight with stomach cancer. He was preceded in death by his mother, Angie, and sister, Lisa. He is survived by Jaycie, his wife of 24 years; father, Paul Sr.; son, Levi; daughters, Kayla, Jazz and her husband, Mica. Duke spent much of his life farming in Quincy, Washington working side-by-side with his father in the family business. In 1999 Duke moved with his family to Everett, Washington where he started his own heating and air conditioning company along with his wife. Duke was well known for his work with Alcoholics Anonymous and spent much of his life helping people gain sobriety. His outreach efforts included running meetings in prisons, holding leadership positions in a local AA chapter, and hosting bi-weekly meetings in his home. Duke has left us too soon and will forever be missed as a husband, father, and friend. A Memorial service will be held 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 13, 2014 at Purdy and Walters with Cassidy, 1702 Pacific Ave., Everett, WA.

Duke and I became friends a very long time ago in Quincy. Our friendship is one of the few that literally lasts a lifetime and beyond. I am so happy that Duke and Jaycie found each other and shared such a beautiful life together.

I don't even know where to begin. Duke was a man's man, a compassionate, giving person. Our road trip to Quincy was something I'll never forget, full of stories and laughter. Being in their home was being home, Both Duke and Jaycie always had a place at the table and I always left spiritually and physically content. We could talk for hours and often did, I'm such a better, husband, father and man because of Duke. I miss you, but will never forget.

Oh, wow. We didn't realize he had passed. We are so sorry. :( We wondered about the activity next door so I Googled the obits...don't get the paper anymore. He was such a great guy and neighbor! He will be missed, especially for yard talk. :) Please holler if you need help with anything.

While we are mourning the loss of Duke, others are rejoicing to meet him behind the veil.

Few people give as purely as this precious soul. He was a model of the spiritual principles by which he lived. We could all aspire to be more Dukely. I do.
Love and blessings to Jaycie and the rest of the family. We will all miss him. What a treasure.
