David Hart Obituary

Hart, David Kenneth
October 7, 2016
David (Dave) Kenneth Hart died unexpectedly at home in the early afternoon hours of October 7th at the age of 67. Born and raised in Piqua, OH, Dave was very proud of his small town, mid-America heritage. Following graduation from Piqua High School, Dave served his country as an Army Artillery 1st Sgt including a tour in Vietnam. Returning to the states he began his public safety career as a Piqua police officer and later became a Piqua firefighter. He later moved to Sarasota and became employed in the private sector loss prevention and security business. Shortly thereafter, he joined the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office beginning as a deputy on their Beach Patrol and later in his career specialized in crime prevention/community policing. He rose through the ranks to Lieutenant before retiring after 27 years of service.
Dave met the love of his life Cindy Zadra Hart in Sarasota and they were married almost 36 years. Their marriage produced a son Ryan David Hart who became his father's best friend. One of Dave's proudest moments was the birth of his first grandchild last year.
Dave was an accomplished athlete and fierce competitor having won numerous events and competitions during his lifetime. Additionally, he was an avid astronomer and photographer and his works were enjoyed by all his family and friends. He loved tending to his beautiful landscape and numerous and varied exotic plants along with a new found interest in bonsai and tagging monarch butterflies that would visit his garden.
Dave was an active member and supporter of Incarnation Catholic Church. He lived his faith by the way he treated all those he met and accordingly was loved and respected by all.
Dave is survived by his wife Cindy, son Ryan (Lori-Ann), grandson Lucas and sisters Kathy Moore and Patti Kennedy. He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers.
Visitation will be on Wednesday (12th) from 6:00-8:00 pm at Toale Brothers Funeral Home, Colonial Chapel, 40 N. Orange Ave. A mass will be held Thursday beginning at 9:30 at Incarnation Catholic Church, 2901 Bee Ridge Rd followed by burial at Sarasota National Cemetery, 9810 State Rd 72 beginning at 12:30.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Vincent de Paul Society via Incarnation Catholic Church.

Cindy.. Linda and I were so shocked and saddened to hear of Dave s passing. When I think of Dave, I hear that friendly booming voice asking "How are you doing ?? " followed by a firm handshake and a touch on your shoulder. I can never recall an instance when he was not smiling.. and in a positive mood.
I remember how giddy and proud he was when you and he became engaged and later married. As soon as I learned of his passing, I called Cindy Senerchia as I knew she would want to know. I spoke with Jay and asked him to pass on the message to her. Jay told me that he and Dave were good friends also. I m glad to see she contacted you.
This world is a little colder.. a little less friendlier with Dave s passing. I guess heaven needed another Centurian to guard and protect it s streets.
You, Ryan and your family are in our daily prayers. My God comfort you and surround you in his love.

God Bless you and keep you.. Dave Brewer

Everything went so beautifully. Dave is looking down with that wonderful smile of his. It was a true honor of having him as a friend and working with at SSO. Cindy, if you need anything you can call me. 941-650-7122. When you told me how much David adored me, it really touched me. I will never forget him and you.

He is in the hands of Jesus right now and soon we will all be reunited. "In My fathers house are many mansions I go there to prepare a place for You so that where I am You will be also"

Dave was the epitome of a gentleman and a great leader. He always greeted you with a smile and when he asked "How you doing?" you knew he sincerely wanted to know.
I have good memories of him as my Sgt. during community policing days on Siesta Key. Also, as the Palmers' wrote, Dave was always fun and encouraging during those hot days of training for the Police Olympics.
God bless his family. He will be dearly missed by many.

The only thing I can figure is, Dave has been chosen for an "Angel" as he left us way to early.
Dave was such a special person with a big heart and a super personality and just a joy to know.
Not only a colleague at the SSO that I was privileged to work with, but more importantly, a wonderful friend. He always reminded me of a big brother in that he always looked out for us.
I will also remember training every year for the LE Olympics. Running around that track at RHS over and over are times I will cherish always.

They just didn't come any better then Dave.

You are in our hearts and thoughts, Cindy & family. With love, Carrie & Eddie Palmer

Dear Cindy, Ryan, and family. I am saddened by the loss of one of the greatest husband, father, and friend to any who knew him. I am praying for peace through this very difficult time, may the Lord of the Universe hold you and give you strength. Even though I am now living in Orlando, Cindy, if there is anything you need, just let me know....I can be there in 2 short hours. There is always an extra room here for you if you wish to just get away.

I have many very good memories of Dave. As kids we were raised in the same church then graduated from the same high school in Piqua. Our 50th class reunion is one year from now and several of Dave's classmates were anticipating seeing him once again. I don't know who said it first, but I can simply say that those of us who knew Dave can remember him with gratitude that he lived and we shared his life for a time.

Where to start? From taking us to basketball camp at the University of Florida as kids, to buying one of my first CD's at blockbuster music at Southgate Mall. One of my favorite memories of Mr. Hart was his time as our volleyball coach in middle school. He was an amazing coach and we really enjoyed that time with him. Despite not allowing us to serve overhand!

Kevin,Paige and I are very sad to hear about Dave. Our minds have been flooded with memories of his kind gentleness and big smile. Some of our very best pictures of the boys through the years are from Dave. He was our historian through our Incarnation and Mooney years. He will always be remembered for his love and concern for the boys, either coaching volleyball or just being there anxious to hear what they have been up to.
Cindy you and I have shed a few tears through the years and I am with you now. Ryan, Lori Ann and Lucas giant hugs coming your way. Our prayers are with you. The Diffley Family
