Margie Ella Campbell Jones, age 78, resident of Gary, IN, departed this life on August 7, 2016. Margie was born in Glendora, MS on May 13, 1938. She graduated from Emerson High School in 1962. She retired from Sears Roebuck Co. in 2001 and was a charter member of Christ Baptist Church. Margie was preceded in death by her father David, mother Rosie, brothers Edward and Claude, sisters Daisy, Edith and Redessa. Margie is survived by her husband of 58 years to Rev. Frank S. Jones Jr., her loving and devoted children, Wayne D. (Christy) Jones, Vernetta S. Jones, Lawanda G. Jones, and Cynthia L. Jones, her sisters Rosie Evans and Gloria Pitts, and daughter-in-law Gloria Ross Jones and in-laws Dorothy Grace, Charles and Carl. She has 9 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, God-daughter Alicia Dubose, a host of nieces, nephews and cousins; cherished friends Mabel Simmons, Della Shackleford, Dorothy, Clayvorn Giner and Clotisha Evans. The Jones family would also like to extend a special thank you to cousin Othella Bradley and all of her friends, home caretakers, health aids and medical staff that took extra special care. The memorial service Saturday, August 13, 2016 at 11 am at Christ Baptist Church 4700 E. 7th Ave. Gary. IN. Dr. Colvin Blanford is officiating. Rev. Lawrence E. Robertson presiding pastor.
