Priscilla Ruddiman Obituary
Jul. 28, 1931 - Aug. 3, 2013
Priscilla "Pep" Ruddiman, of Sarasota, passed away Aug. 3, 2013. Our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother was born July 28, 1931, in Plainfield, N.J. A memorial service will be held Tues., Aug. 6th at 5:00pm at the Mansion at Selby Gardens.
Pep is survived by her brother, Jack Phillips; her children, Chari, Ken (Donna) and Doug (Susan) Wurtzel, Beth Ruddiman, and Judy McManus (Denny); her grandchildren, Kim Connolly, Dan and Scott Wurtzel, Erin and Matthew McManus; and her great-grandson, Ethan Connolly. She was predeceased by her grandson, Tom Wurtzel, and her husband, Rod Ruddiman.
She was a long standing volunteer at the Selby Gardens and active in the Sarasota community. She spent many years in amateur theatre. Her hobbies included playing the organ, traveling, creating stained glass artwork, mahjongg, and attending live arts performances.
She retired from technical records management in the Washington D.C. area.
In lieu of flowers, Pep requested donations to: Marie Selby Botanical Gardens, 811 S. Palm Ave., Sarasota, FL 34236 or the Philanthropy Department, Tidewell Hospice, 5955 Rand Blvd., Sarasota, FL 34238. Condolences may be offered at www.palmsrobartsfuneralhome.com.

I am so sorry to hear the news. Just read it in the COMSAT alumn newsletter. I worked with Pep at both Comsat Labs and Intelsat so we go way back. We've exchanged Christmas cards since we both left Intelsat. My condolences.

I only knew Pep a short time - volunteered to do some grocery shopping for her - but what a delight she was! SO intelligent, witty and WAY younger-thinking than her years! She SO loved and took pride in her family - the world won't be the same without her...my sincerest condolences to family and friends feeling her loss.

"Pep" used to come to my Mah Jongg tournaments, where we enjoyed her company. She took delight in many activities, but the most enjoyment she got was her family. Her face always lit up when she shared photos of the newest addition of a great grandchild or other family news. She will be missed. My deepest sympathy.

I am so sorry to hear of Pep's death. I met Pep as a fellow Mah Jongg player and as a fellow information professional. We shared an interest in the collections of Selby Gardens and I was always grateful to Pep for the assistance she provided in searching the botanical collections. She was delightful,
