Walcott, Roger B.
March 7, 1923 - May 13, 2011

Roger B. Walcott, 88, died at home in Venice on May 13, 2011, surrounded by his loving family.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Jinx; his son Clinton and wife Ida of Las Vegas; son Chic of San Diego and son Roger and wife Karen of Wellington, Fla. He is also survived by his four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Roger was born in Olivet, Mich., where he completed high school, graduating as class valedictorian. He enlisted in the Army Air Force, trained as a navigator and served his country in 8th Air Force, 34th Bomb Group. He completed 30 mission tour on lead and deputy lead Flying Fortresses over enemy territory. After discharge, he entered Antioch College and graduated as a mechanical engineer in 1949. He completed 35 years with Johnson Controls as a sales engineer and office manager in Dayton, Ohio. He and Jinx moved to Venice when he retired in 1985.
A private service for the family will be at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to Tidewell of Venice.
