Thomas Alling Obituary
Jan. 29, 1932 - March 25, 2011
Thomas B. Alling, 79, of Nokomis, formerly of South Paris, Maine and East Providence, R.I. died March 25, 2011.
Services will be at a later date.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Barbara; daughters Kathleen Gowe of Bradenton, Robin Cruce of Vero Beach and Elise of Owingsville, Ky.; brothers Robert of North Norway, Maine, Alan Afflerbach of North Port and Stephen Afflerbach of Swansea, Mass.; sister Carolyn Feiro of Riverside, R.I.; eight grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his son, Thomas W. in 2002.
Born in Providence, R.I. he attended East Providence Schools and joined the Marine Corps. after high school from 1949 to 1952. Tom was a builder in the South Paris area for 25 years and belonged to St. Catherine Church in Norway for 40 years.

We were so fortunate to have Tom as our Maine neighbor for 12 years. He was a true patriot, father figure and friend. Barbara & family, you are in our thoughts and prayers.

I am so grateful that I was able to see Uncle Tom a few years ago in Florida, and spend some time with him. But, at the same time, I wish we were able to all be together more often. Uncle Tom was so kind. I know my dad misses him deeply. To Auntie Barbara & family, Dad, Uncle Al, Auntie Carol and Uncle Bob, I wish there was something more that I could do to make this time a little easier on all of you. I'm thinking of you and hope that when we all meet in Maine to say our goodbyes, you will each be reminded of all the happiness he brought to his family and friends and you'll be able to find peace. xoxo
