Swartz, Lee Jaffe

Lee Jaffe Swartz, 88, of Sarasota, FL, died on Dec. 23, 2012.
Lee Swartz was born in Pittsfield, MA, the sixth of six children to parents Max and Rebecca Jaffe. She grew up in Troy, N.Y. and graduated from Troy High School in 1942.
During World War II, Lee worked for the Veterans Administration in Albany, N.Y.
After the War, she married Abner Swartz in 1948 and lived in Rockville Centre, N.Y. for forty-five years.
In 1970, Lee resumed her career as a medical secretary at Nassau Hospital in Mineola / Winthrop Medical Center. She retired in 1992 and moved to Longboat Key.
For eight years she volunteered for Jewish Family Services of Sarasota.
Lee is survived by her husband of sixty-four years, two sons, Matthew ( Nancy ) of Manassas, VA and Robert ( Terri ) of Nanuet, N.Y., three grandsons, Alexander ( Rachel Barish ) of N.Y., N.Y., Benjamin of Fairfax, VA and Charles ( Katherine Ball ) of Tel Aviv, a granddaughter Katie of N.Y., N.Y. and great grandson Samuel of Tel Aviv.
She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed by her family and many friends.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy can be made as a contribution to Jewish Family Services of Sarasota in the memory of Lee J. Swartz.
