Thomas E. Carey, of Osprey, FL, died in Hospice Care at Sarasota Memorial Hospital on August 11, 2012.
Born in 1932 to the late Cornelius and Kathleen Carey, of Garden City, NY, he graduated from Chaminade High School on Long Island, and with honors from Fordham College in NYC.
He married his loving wife, Ellen, 52 years ago, and was the proud father of Melissa Hyland (Jim). He had two grandchildren.
A career in non-ferrous metals, involving both mining and commodities trading, required extensive travel world-wide, and included residence for two years in Tokyo, Japan.
A funeral service at Church of the Redeemer will be private.
