I worked with Albert for 15 years at Sarasota Police Dept, and he was a wonderful person and dear friend. His kindness went far beyond the employees he supervised. He bought my husband breakfast while he was going through radiation and consoled our daughter during this difficult time. Al's great smile will be missed by all who knew him. Memories and prayers to you Leslie and the loved ones he left behind. Thank you for sharing your husband with us. Warm regards

Leslie and Sandy, my heart grieves at your terrible loss. My daughter, Erika (who has now also passed away) was friends with Sandy in middle school; and I can remember Erika saying how nice Sandy's dad was.

What a loss for our community. Chief Hogle was a public servant with true integrity. He was a valued member of the Board of Coastal Behavioral Health and I always knew I had his support as CEO.
Sending Prayers to the family,

In loving memory of our nephew, Al. Your kind and gentle spirit will live forever in our hearts.

My uncle was one of the most genuine men I have ever met. Just listening to him speak about anything was so intriguing, so sincere, whether it had to do with family or hearing him speak on tv. I will cherish everything I have learned from him and will miss hearing his voice. I love you uncle al, I'm so proud to be your nephew. ~mch

Dear Hogle Family,

Al will be greatly missed. He was a mild mannered, no nonsense person with a deep commitment to our community. He was a gentlemen with a sweet smile (with the devilishness in his eyes) who always found the time to listen.

Al was one of the first police officers I met when we both attended Manatee Junior College in 1972. I was working construction and I was sporting shoulder length hair and a full face beard. He quickly presented me with a nick name that stayed with me for a good portion of my career; " Wolfman". He was the first lawman that I could call a friend.

Later I was hired by SSO, and throughout our careers, our paths crossed quite often when working Narcotics cases and criminal investigations. We attended advanced classes for career development together, and later were neighbors when he lived in Sherwood Forest.

Al was the most positive, easy going person and police officer I ever met. He loved his family, his profession, and life in general. He was not only a great and fair leader, but excelled as a mentor to those who sought his advice or counsel. The Longboat Key Police Department, the citizens of LBK, and Sarasota County have lost a great friend and leader.

My thoughts and prayers go out to Al, his family, department and friends, as they all feel the loss of one special man. Al it was a priveledge to know you.

With heartfelt loss and sympathy your friend~ Dave Brewer
