M. Susan Vizcarra Adamec 55, of Sarasota, Fla. passed away on Thursday, Dec. 16, 2010 at Haven Hospice Gainesville, Fla. Susan was born in Manila, Philippines on Nov. 17, 1955 to Bernard and Anita (DePerio) Vizcarra.
Susan had a degree in Associate Science in Medical Technology at The University of Santo Tomas in Manila, a Business Administration degree at Pace University, a graduate of Manhattan College in New York City. She became a United States Citizen in 1983. Susan had a long career in banking, Head Teller at Bowery Savings Bank in N.Y., a Personal Banker at Sun Trust in Sarasota for 14 years, and recently with Fifth Third Bank.
She loved to shop, cook, and dance, go to the theater, sing, play tennis, ski, and travel abroad. Her favorite love was watching her daughter Ashleigh dance ballet.
Survivors include her husband, Don and daughter, Ashleigh; her cat, Miko and poodle, Ritz; Her father, Bernard Vizcarra; sister, Ching Sarmiento; brothers, Rod and JoJo Vizcarra; In-laws, Brian Clancy, Tina Vizcarra & Marge Vizcarra; nephews, nieces, uncles, aunts, and other relatives from San Francisco; brother and sister in-law, Teri and Bob Adamec and Barbara and Pete Gorga.
There will be a Funeral Mass 12 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 29, at the Church of the Incarnation, 2901 Bee Ridge Rd. a "Celebration of Susan's Life" will follow in the Church Hall.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Ashleigh Adamec Scholarship Fund @ M&I Bank, 240 S. Pineapple Ave. # 101 Sarasota, Fl 34236

I remember the great times
we had tail gating at Giant Stadium
with Bob, Teri, Ken and the gang.
I remember how you jumped up and down

merry christmas!! we miss you and love you so much! wish you were here with us on this beautiful christmas day in tallahassee.
i have wonderful news that i know you'd be so excited about. i was finally accepted into fsu for spring semester as a bfa dance major! all the hard work has finally paid off and i will be receiving my aa degree in january and starting school on the 4th. everything i do now is for you. i will dance my dreams just for you.
i am also living in a house now with chelsea, my roomie from the apartment, who also went to booker. it's so cute, you would love it!

December 16, 2011. It has been one year since you have closed your eyes forever.
On Thursday, December 16, 2010 it was a very sad, sad day. This day was full of tears, sorrow, anger, hurt and broken hearts. On this day it was a very difficult decision for Ashleigh, and me to know that we had to putt you to rest forever.
Many times we have asked ourselves did we do
the right thing, should we have waited?
We might never know what happened to you.
Please forgive us. We leave it in God's hands.

Dear Ashleigh and Don,
Your words could not have described any better the love you have for your mom---and a Happy Birthday to her too.
I know firsthand---each July 29th for the past six years I have travelled to New Hampshire to be with my beautiful late wife Betty on her birthday. She's laid to rest with her mom and dad and older brother Joe in St. Ppatrick's Cemetery in Hudson, New Hampshire---next to Nashua.
As a nice Jewish boy from Brooklyn, married for 26 years to a beautiful Portuguese and Irish Roman Catholic girl from Boston---and now by myself---I'm well aware of your loss---because I still have my own.
It will take time---but, though the pain wont go away completely, it will be balanced by all the good memories of the time you had together.
All the best to you both---and remember that Mommy would want you to make sure you have a Happy Thanksgiving---in her memory.

Dear Mommy,
Yesterday was tough, but I learned to make the best of it by trying to keep myself busy and be happy. I went to mass for you at this Catholic Church called St. Thomas here in Tally, my first time there, a lot of students. It was nice, pretty church. Then Chelsea came with me to dinner at Harry's to celebrate your day and eat some of our favorite dishes that we used to get at the Harry's in Gainesville. We each had a glass of Chardonnay to toast to you! The bread and butter is always so good, I got my favorite dish that I order every single time, Grilled Chicken Baton Rouge and for dessert we shared Chocolate Bread Pudding with Vanilla Ice Cream. All very tasty! Wish you could have been with us, but I know you were there in spirit. Enjoy the rest of the pictures and I hope your day yesterday was wonderful up in heaven.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! You're now 56 years old up in heaven. I wish you were here with Dad and I, Tita Ching, Tito Ding and JoJo along with the rest of the family on your day so we could all celebrate.
Can't believe it has been a year already since your last birthday. Your last birthday was really tough for Dad and I, seeing you lay there in a coma not even realizing what was going on, but we know you could hear us especially when we sang you "Happy Birthday." All that matters is that we were both there with you on your day. We brought you beautiful flowers to brighten up your hospital room and a bunch of lovely cards from Dad and I and Tita Ching to make the day somewhat more pleasant.
Please keep watching over Dad and I and the rest of the family as you have been doing, so we know that we are always safe. We love you and miss you beyond words and are always thinking about you each and every day. Don't you ever forget that.

By the way, I love the photo that I posted with this message because it makes smile and so happy. You were so fun, young and beautiful, and as I said before I keep seeing myself in you with so many of the same traits that you had and it brings me joy.

Such a lovely photo of the two of us, one of my favorites. You look so beautiful! It's crazy to believe that your birthday is in 28 days, October is getting close to its end. Time really flies. You're going to be 56, wow!

Hi Susan,
One year ago today was one of the saddest day of my life. I wanted to do something to help you, but felt so helpless. It was beyond our belief and control, and all we could do was pray and hope for the best.
I wish to wake up one day and say this was all just a bad dream. But, I guess God has plans made for you. HE took you away from us... I just wish that I had one more day to have spoken with you before you left us. I just console myself that you're now in a better place with Mommy, without any more pains. I know you're in heaven.
I love and miss you sooo much. I know you continue to look after Ashleigh, Papa & Don. I promised to do the same from here.
Forgive me if sometimes I get very easily frustrated dealing with Papa's situation. Please help me, Ding & Jojo to ask God to give us more strenght to endure and continue to be strong for Papa.

Today you are remembered very dearly. I will never forget this day a year ago, the most terrifying day of my life and seeing you in such pain.
Not a day goes by that I am not thinking about you and replaying the 17th along with the whole 3 months in my head and where it all went wrong. I still wish I could believe it was a dream. I just want to see you, give you a hug and talk to you for one last time.
Dad is right, life can be very unfair at times and there's no specific answer to why that is.
I love you and miss you beyond words can say. Please keep sticking by me as my guardian angel so I know i'm safe at all times. I know you are being taken cared of everyday up there in that beautiful place called heaven.

Dear Mommy and Susan,
Time goes by, SO FAST.
It is one year to this day,
today September 17,
is a day both Ashleigh
and I will never ever ever forget.
It was the most hurting, shocking
and heartbreaking experience in both
our lives seeing you in the hospital in a
coma surrounded by Doctor’s and nurses.
Only a few days before we talked, and
enjoyed Filipino food for lunch. Life is
sometimes very unfair.
Months went by seeing you in such
pain and knowing that we might no
longer be able to speak to you,
for ever, or for you never to recognize us.
Looking back one year to this date,
we have only to believe that GOD decided
he needed you to be with him in heaven.
We said many prayers, lit candles, went
to mass many times said the rosary and
hoped you would come back to us.
Nothing we could do, this was his wish.
We only wish GOD would have waited
Just a little longer, about 100 years longer.
You are in our prayers every day
and we love, miss and think about you
always. Sometimes we feel we will wake
up from a dream, and there you are.

I finally moved out of Gainesville and the apartment and moved to Tally!! New adventures and I know you must be proud. I miss you so much and I wish you were here to see my new apartment and visit Tallahassee. It's a lot like Gainesville in some ways. I know you're watching over me and staying by by side. I'm at Tallahassee Community College right now finishing up two more classes so I can finally get my AA Degree from Santa Fe and then transfer to FSU in the spring hopefully :) I am trying my best to keep you proud!
